Chicago - Summer 2009

At the end of June we drove up to Chicago for a weeks vacation. The first part of the vacation was about relaxing and visiting friends and family. The second part of the week my parents flew into town for their first visit to Chicago.

As soon as we pulled into town on Saturday we broke in the Bocce Ball set Pete got from Hewitt for 10 years of service!

Me working on my form in front of Worthmoor!

Monday we were trying to find a place in the city to play Bocce ball. As we were walking by this one house I noticed a rabbit in the front yard, as did the dog in the window.

Tuesday we spent the day with Becky and her brew! Pete was a little worn out from trying to keep up with all the kids! Hannah and Leo were ready for more!

Brady looked a little tired too!

We got to go with Leo to his Karate class. He was really good and very coordinated!! One of the best in the class.

So cute!!!!

Wednesday night we hung with the guys!! Dan was in town from Hawaii for the summer so it was good to see him as well.

Then Thursday my parents flew in. We were non-stop after they arrived. Here we are on the way to get some Giordano's Chicago style pizza.

Then we had to walk off all the pizza we ate so we walked to Millennium Park

We also did the architecture tour - I had been wanting to do this for a long time - it was nice to finally get the chance

Then Friday we got up and out early so we could check out the Lincoln Park zoo

Then off to Indiana to meet up with Pete's dad and Renee for a little sailing. We sailed to downtown so we could check out the Chicago fireworks from the water.

It got a little cold as the sun went down

On the 4th of July (Saturday) we went to the Cubs game!

Luke was kind enough to get us 8 tickets so it was Pete, my parents, Lauren, Mike, Meagan, Dave, and myself. A good time was had by all!

Even if the cubs did lose.

Mom, dad, and me down near the dugout

Afterwards we headed to Becky and Dave's for a BBQ.

On our drive home Sunday we stopped in Louisville. We lucked out and it was the last day of racing at Churchill Downs so we made it to the last 4 races. I won on three different horses!!!

We spent the night Sunday in Louisville and before we headed back to Atlanta we stopped at the Louisville Slugger museum.
