Honeymoon

Okay so I know I'm really behind - but better late than never.  I got busy studying for my gem test (I didn't do as good as usual but I did pass with a B)!!  Plus Pete has been busy studying at the computer.

It has been awhile since I've looked at these pictures I forgot what an amazing two weeks it was in paradise!!

Sunset on the first night on the Big Island.

Pete just couldn't resist taking this picture.

This is what we cruised in the first week of vacation.  We got suckered into it - I learned my lesson though and didn't let it happen in Maui.

View as we pulled out of the Marriott in Waikoloa Village

All of the lava rocks along the side of the road.

Dinner at Roy's the first night.

Pictures of the pool at the Marriott - it was a very nice resort for the price - we highly recommend it!

Waipi'o Valley, Big Island

Views as we took the steep hike down Waipi'o valley

Down in the valley at Waipi'o
Hawaii was having a drought and not all of the waterfalls were flowing but you could see where they would have been.

Petey!!

Akaka Falls State Park

We stopped at the Mauna Loa plant and bought a ton of Macadamia Nuts

We were near Volcano National Park.  This is some lava flowing down into the ocean.

This is were the lava met the water.

It was really pretty - I just wish we could have gotten closer.

This is the bed and breakfast we stayed in near the Volcano National Park.

After a wonderful stay on the Big Island we flew over to Maui.  This is the sunset on the first night.

We splurged for a few nights and stayed at the Four Seasons.  It was well worth the splurge, we were treated like royalty!

If you are ever in Maui I highly recommend the Old Lahaina Luau.  Also, I highly recommend Leilani's (www.leilanis.com) on Kaanapali Beach - we went three nights in a row we were so in love with the fish tacos.

You can see the Big Island from Haleakala National Park

See we really were high!  Planes cruising altitude is about 30,000 feet.

Pete and I above the clouds at Haleakala National Park.  We couldn't make it up early enough for the sunrise so this will have to do!!

Above the clouds on the way down from Haleakala National Park.  You can kind of make out Maalaea Bay.

On our last morning we had brunch at the Ritz.  It was kind of far away from things but a very nice resort.

It was sad to leave Hawaii!!  We had such an amazing, relaxing trip.  But we will be back!!
