Blue and Lea. Blue loves Lea to death. Wally wants nothing to do with Lea. I think it is pure jealousy!

Portland and Seattle

Pete and I got a last minute deal to go to Portland and Seattle for a long weekend. Neither of us had been to that part of the country before so it was all new to both of us!! The first thing we saw that was so interesting to us was all the logs! There were a ton of trucks all over the highway packed full of logs. On the way to Astoria we saw this log shipping area that was really neat.

Our first stop was Astoria, OR. For those of you who don't know it was where The Goonies was filmed! We started off by stopping at the Astoria Column. It is a big tower that you can climb 164 steps to the top and have a nice view of the city.

View from the column.

Us on top of the column with Astoria in the background.

The County jail as seen in Goonies.

The above picture is from Cannon Beach. It is about 30 minutes south of Astoria. This was also the area where the end of Goonies was filmed.

We had gotten to Cannon Beach just before dark. It got dark much earlier than we expected but I was able to get a few pictures.

In Portland we stayed with some friends from India (Dave and Vicki). It just happen that Andrea - another girl from India - was visiting as well.

Vicki, Dave, Pete, and I.

After we left Portland we headed north east to Mt Rainier National Park. It was so beautiful.

This was a cool area in the park where the river use to flow through and now it is just a stream.

We got to walk out onto the old river bed.

We found this awesome falls along the way up!

We got to the highest point and as soon as we went to take a picture with Rainier in the back ground the clouds rolled in!

Another view of the river bed.

Our first tourist stop in Seattle was about 20 minutes north of the city. The Columbia Winery in Woodinville, Washington. It is home to my favorite Riesling - Cellarmaster Reserve.

Afterwards we headed back into the city to the Pike Place Market. The weather wasn't the greatest but we still made it out!

I tried to get a picture of them throwing the fish but this was the best I could do.

The original Starbucks.

The original logo - boobs and all!

We took this underground tour. Pete is at the Underground Bar in this picture.

On our last big vacation we got lucky and had this awesome view of the Petron Towers in Malaysia. We got lucky again and had a great view of the Space Needle from out hotel room.

The Space Needle up close.

This is Lake Union. We ate at a good Thai restaurant on the right shore area. There really wasn't a nice view of the lake but it was close by.
