Alex turns 4 and Zach is 19 months

I'm as far behind as I've ever been on my blog updates so you should see another one coming relatively soon.  Summer was a blast and went way to fast.  The kids are getting big and Zach is really talking up a storm.

One of Alex's favorite days of the summer - Cammie's birthday!

The next week he had his eye surgery.  All went well, he doesn't have to wear a patch anymore but he is still in glasses.  Hopefully over time he will be able to get out of them since he does have 20/20 vision.

Alex and Maggie.  You can still see Alex's eyes were a little red from his surgery - it lasted about 6 - 8 weeks.

Alex and Zach having a bonding moment with the iPad!

Until Zach started to pet Alex!

GG and her grandkids!  Zach obviously isn't a fan of the group picture.

Trent, Lea, and Spencer - everyone is growing up so fast!

So Pete did a pretty amazing thing for my 40th Birthday!  He gave me a surprise birthday party!!  I do love surprises!!  It was a great weekend filled with so many friends and family!!  Love you Peter - as Mrs Downs say you get husband of the year!

Everyone waiting for me to show up!

My entrance into the surprise party!  It brought me to tears I was so happy!

Brady, Hannah, Zach, and Leo!  Zach really loved Hannah!!  He kept calling her naming and holding his arms up to pick him up.  He really doesn't do that to anyone, not even me or Maggie.

Maggie made Alex a Doc McStuffing PiƱata for his birthday and since all his cousins were in town we celebrated a little early!

Alex learned what a selfie was this weekend.  Now he asks me to take a selfie of us all the time!

Playing with his new 'kitchen' set he got from NeyNey and Grandpa

Zach loves his cowboy boots!

Lauren came and stayed for a whole week - it was really nice having her around.  The boys really missed her when she left!  Come back Auntie Lauren!!!!!!!!!

We had Alex's birthday and Great Play again this year!!  A ton of fun and very little work for mommy and daddy makes for a really great party!

Of course Alex is next to Cammie!

If you know Alex you know how much he loves Doc McStuffins so that was our theme this year!

Zach enjoyed the cupcake!

Zach always keeps things interesting!!  These two videos prove it!!

Alex 3 years 11 months/ Zach 18 months

The boys are getting so big.  Alex will be 4 shortly and Zach is starting to talk up a storm.  Mostly just one words but he can say... "all through the town"... Wheels on the Bus being his favorite song right now.  Zach just had his 18 month check up and he continues to be really tall and skinny (although not as skinny as Alex).  He was 83 percentile for height and 36 percentile for weight.

Zach loves to ride Brownie...

... and play at the park.  He is not at all timid like his brother.

He also loves Alex's cowboy boots that are still about two sizes two big.

Alex came to me the other day and said he really, really wanted a Doc McStuffins cell phone.  I obviously didn't want to just buy it for him and his birthday was still awhile away so I told him that if he picked 10 toys from the toy room to give to charity he could get a new phone.  I honestly think he had more fun picking out the toys and taking them to Goodwill then he did have picking out his new cell phone.

I love it when he has conversations on the phone and tells me he is going to text me something!  This kid really pays attention!

At the end of May I went out to Seattle to meet up with Lauren (Pete's sister), Becky (Pete's cousin), and Jordan (Pete's cousin) at Taylor's (Pete's cousin) new house.  It was a really fun girls weekend!  To really enjoy my trip I flew first class out there.  I forgot how much fun it was to travel (especially when you go first class)!!  The picture above and below didn't do the view justice (especially after a few glasses of wine) but I still had to post them.

Another fun picture from the duck tour!  Me, Lauren, Becky, and Jordan

What Zach was up to while I was gone!

Saw this beautiful bird while I was out for a walk!

We hit up a couple wineries while we were in Seattle.  Chateau Set Michelle was by far the best winery we visited!

How Zach spent a good portion of the time while I was gone!  Zach has been in 10x more time outs than Alex has ever been!!  His favorites as of late - hitting (who ever is closest when he is mad/frustrated) and spitting out his milk or water (for no particular reason besides he thinks it is fun).

Kids sharing some iPad time!

I brought back Alex a snow globe and he was so excited about it that he carried it around every where he went.  Unfortunately he kept dropping it!  About 4 hours after I gave it to him it busted open when it hit the kitchen floor.  He was SO upset that it broke my heart.  Thankfully I remembered the store I bought it at, called them and they were nice enough to ship me a new one.  The cheap souvenir I brought him back quickly doubled in cost!  Oh well it was worth it and now instead of carrying it around everywhere he goes, he sleeps with it every night!

Alex loves to help clean!  And I let him, even if it doesn't really provide any cleaning value, it keeps him happy and quite!  :)

Maggie (our nanny) took some really great picture of the boys for Father's Day!!  Love these guys!!
